Topsail Island Piers



Topsail Island is home to three piers, each offering pier fishing and events to the public. Starting with the northernmost pier is the Seaview Fishing Pier, up in North Topsail Beach. Centrally located in Surf City is the Surf City Ocean Pier. Finally, the Jolly Roger Pier is located at the southern end of Topsail Island, in Topsail Beach. Each of Topsail Island’s piers offer unique fishing opportunities, and are conveniently located on the island so that regardless of where you’re staying, there’s a pier nearby.

Seaview Fishing Pier

Location: North Topsail Beach

Seaview Fishing Pier in North Topsail Beach offers great opportunities for fishing, eating, or strolling the pier. Inside you’ll find a well stocked bait and tackle shop as well as general beach supplies for all of your beach vacation needs. If you’re hungry, the restaurant serves incredible breakfast, lunch, dinner, and ice cream, and will even clean and cook your fresh catch from the fishing pier.

Fishing fees at Seaview Fishing Pier (including all licenses) start at $14 for a daily pass (2 rods), and spectators are allowed in for $1. There is also a $3 beach access pass, which allows you to access the beach nearby the pier.

Surf City Ocean Pier

Location: Surf City

Surf City Ocean Pier is Topsail Island’s very first pier, and was originally built in 1948. Stretching over 937 feet, Surf City Ocean Pier gives fishermen and women ample room to spread out and enjoy the water. There’s also two large fish cleaning stations with fresh running water, plenty of lighting along the pier and in the parking lot, and a 40 foot octagon at the end of the pier. Inside you’ll find a fully stocked tackle shop with a wide variety of bait and souvenirs. There’s also a full grill serving up fresh burgers and ice cream, with a covered outside eating area to enjoy the food and views.

Daily fishing passes at Surf City Ocean Pier start at $10 for adults (per rod) and $5 for children under 10. Daily Kingfish passes start at $30 and include 3 rods.

Jolly Roger Pier

Location: Topsail Beach

Jolly Roger Pier was once the site of a NASA observation tower during project Operation Bumbleee, but is now a fully functioning fishing pier offering incredible fishing, sunset views, and food. Stretching out 850 feet into the Atlantic Ocean, Jolly Roger Pier offers ample room for fishing and strolling. Inside the pier you’ll find a fully stocked bait and tackle shop, gift shop, and the Jolly Roger Grill, which is a full service restaurant cooking up delicious country breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Daily fishing passes at Jolly Roger Pier start at $16 per day, and Kingfish passes start at $27. Spectator passes can also be purchased for $2.
